TEENS AGAINST DIABETES

Teens Against Diabetes is a youth initiative of Veterans Against Diabetes, Inc. that empowers young people to understand the real-life impact of diabetes while serving veterans, supporting veteran families, strengthening communities, and developing as leaders.

Through education, mentorship, advocacy, and hands-on service, teens gain real-world experience, build confidence, and learn the value of teamwork, discipline, responsibility, and accountability.

TAD welcomes young people who live with diabetes, have experienced its impact through family or friends, or simply want to serve. Veterans remain at the heart of the mission.

THE TAD SUPPORT NETWORK

TAD connects young people with approved mentors and mission-aligned partners who help them learn, serve, and develop safely. Through VAD, participants can engage with veterans, veteran families, parents, schools, diabetes educators, healthcare partners, nonprofits, businesses, and first responders.

Participants may begin at different stages based on their age, readiness, interests, abilities, and goals. Leadership is earned through service, conduct, accountability, and demonstrated performance.

All TAD activities operate under Veterans Against Diabetes oversight and appropriate adult supervision. VAD protects participant safety, privacy, program accuracy, and legal compliance. Parent or guardian consent is required for participating minors.

TAD provides education, encouragement, peer support, and referrals. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, medication management, or individualized health guidance.
